Scholarship for international students

Eligible are students:

• who are enrolled in a regular course of study at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum
• who have a foreign nationality
• who have not obtained their university entrance qualification (e.g. the Abitur) in Germany
• who are at least in third semester at RUB during the funding period (Exception: Master's students with a previous Bachelor's degree from RUB can also apply before the third semester)

If you are naturalised (eingebürgert), you are no longer entitled to the scholarship.

• If you do not receive BAföG:
  • 400€/month
  • Over a six-month period
• If you receive BAföG at the same time:
  • 300€/month
  • Over a six-month period
• In addition to the financial support, there is an accompanying programme, with e.g. group meetings and individual consultation.
• Should you receive our scholarship, please note that your total gross monthly income, including the scholarship amount, must not exceed €1,548 during the funding period.

• Self-disclosure of financial situation*
• BAföG notice (if available)*
• Current study certificate*

• Confirmation of the department (only mandatory if you plan to graduate within the next two semesters)*
• Proof of social engagement
