Bank statements

Copies of your bank statements are a required document for scholarship applications. We cannot consider your application without the copies.

From which accounts do I submit bank statements?

From all of your accounts:

  • Checking account (Girokonto)
  • Savings account
  • Credit card
  • Blocked account
  • ...

Which period must be covered?

  • The last three months must be covered
  • For example, if you are applying in June, then submit bank statements from March, April and May.

What must be visible on the account statements?

  • It must be recognizable how much money you receive (e.g. deposits of the blocked account, salary, BAföG or scholarships).
  • If you have account statements on paper and scan them, please make sure that the scans are readable.

Are there any particularities to your account statements?

  • Do you pay rent in cash or are you in arrears?
  • Have you received a large payment through your family?

Use the existing text field in the application form to explain this to the selection committee.

Why do I have to submit my bank statements?

The scholarship is primarily aimed at students who are dependent on financial support during their studies. To verify this, the selection committee needs insight into your financial situation.
