What does participation in the program cost?

The program Studienspur is free of charge for all participants. Learning materials (e.g. books) have to be paid for by the participants.

What is my status at RUB?

Participants in Studienspur are enrolled as guest students. This means:

  • Use of the RUB infrastructure (e.g. library, computers)
  • Participation in lectures possible (but no acquisition of credits)
  • RUB social contribution fee does not have to be paid
Can I choose the time of the German course?

No. The German courses in Studienspur take place in the afternoon, approx. 2-6 pm. You cannot attend in the morning.

What does "propaedeutic" mean?

Questions about the Application

My application is not working. Why is that?

Please note the following instructions for your application:

  • Confirm the registration link. If necessary, check the spam folder of your e-mail account.
  • It is best to use a laptop or PC for your application. Do not fill out the application on your cell phone.
  • Upload all files in PDF format only. The files should not be larger than 5 MB.
  • Make sure that you have filled in all fields.
  • Try registering with a new e-mail address and filling out the application again.
  • If you have problems, use a different Internet browser.
I am already studying at another university in Germany. Can I apply for a study track?

No. Studienspur is a preparatory program, therefore only people who are not enrolled at a German university are accepted.

I have applied for Studienspur before, but was not accepted. Can I apply again?

Yes, you can mention in your application that you are a repeat applicant. We will consider this positively.

I am not in Germany, but I am planning to enter Germany. Can I apply?

No. We only accept applicants with a registered address in Germany.
