Frequently asked questions - Studienspur

My application is not working. Why is that?

Please note the following instructions for your application:

  • Confirm the registration link. If necessary, check the spam folder of your e-mail account.
  • It is best to use a laptop or PC for your application. Do not fill out the application on your cell phone.
  • Upload all files in PDF format only. The files should not be larger than 5 MB.
  • Make sure that you have filled in all fields.
  • Try registering with a new e-mail address and filling out the application again.
  • If you have problems, use a different Internet browser.
I am already studying at another university in Germany. Can I apply for a study track?

No. Studienspur is a preparatory program, therefore only people who are not enrolled at a German university are accepted.

I have applied for Studienspur before, but was not accepted. Can I apply again?

Yes, you can mention in your application that you are a repeat applicant. We will consider this positively.

I am not in Germany, but I am planning to enter Germany. Can I apply?

No. We only accept applicants with a registered address in Germany.

When will I receive an answer to my application?

It takes some time to review all applications. You will receive an acceptance or rejection letter in mid-August (for the winter semester) or mid-February (for the summer semester).

What does "propaedeutic" mean?

Our propaedeutic program will prepare you specifically for studying in Germany. You will get to know Ruhr-Universität Bochum and acquire study-relevant skills. You can find more information about the propaedeutic program here.

Can I choose the time of the German course?

No. The German courses in Studienspur take place in the afternoon, approx. 2-6 pm. You cannot attend in the morning.
