Welcome, Ruhr Fellows 2022!
After a two-year break due to the pandemic, the Ruhr Fellowship Programme is finally taking place again. This summer, the University Alliance Ruhr is happy to welcome 7 students from the USA.
From June to July 2022, the exchange students from selected US universities will participate in an eight-week summer programme organized by the TU Dortmund. The programme consists of a two-week academic and cultural introduction, followed by a six-week internship in cooperation with companies located in the Ruhr area. On June 9, the "Ruhr Fellows" visited the Ruhr University Bochum and received the chance to explore the RUB campus. The student association RUB Motorsport introduced itself and its latest project: the all-electric racing car RUB22e. After a relaxing lunch break at the campus restaurant Rote Bete, the students enjoyed a small campus tour with the head of the sustainability office, Matthias Thome. Despite the recurring rain showers, the trip to the Chinese Garden was a success. The day ended with an International Speed Friending - a great opportunity for the Ruhr Fellows to get to know a couple of RUB students and exchange ideas.
Students of Ruhr University Bochum are also given the opportunity to gain practical experience in the New York metropolitan area as part of the Transatlantic Ruhr Fellowship exchange programme.
