Task Group Internationalization

Internationalization at Ruhr-Universität is a joint effort.

The Task Group Internationalization (TGI) is an agile internal working group that supports the implementation and monitoring of the internationalization strategy RUB International 2030 at Ruhr University. It is particularly dedicated to the development and implementation of key measures and also promotes cross-departmental dialogue and knowledge transfer between key players at the university who are responsible for internationalization measures.

The members of the Task Group are selected representatives from administration and central operational facilities who operate tasks in the field of internationalization and work together using the agile OKR method (Objectives and Key Results).

This enables us at RUB to actively and effectively shape the achievement of our internationalization goals and to better coordinate internal work processes related to internationalization.

The task group's current focus areas

  • are attracting and retaining international students, young researchers, and professors from abroad
  • further developing the bilingual campus
  • strengthening international welcoming culture
  • establishing and expanding RUB's international strategic partnerships

The task group was established by decision of the Rectorate in 2025 and reports to it at regular intervals on the development and implementation status of individual goals and measures. This enables us to strengthen both top-down and bottom-up approaches and helps to continuously reflect and focus on goals of high priority.
