Idea & Content

As part of the Integra study preparation programme for prospective students with and without a refugee background, an Integra Council has been elected by the programme participants every semester since October 2020. On the one hand, the Integra Council supports the Integra participants with the help of weekly consultation hours, in which they can ask their questions and give their feedback on the organisation of the Integra programme. Subsequently, the Integra Council represents the participants' concerns to the International Office and other university partners on a monthly basis. The constant feedback makes it possible to continuously evaluate the study preparation programme and adapt it to the needs of the participants. In addition, the international prospective students actively participate in the design of the Integra programme through their voluntary work in the Integra Council.

How does the election work?

Every semester, the Integra Council consists of at least three participants of the Integra programme who apply for this position. After a introduction round, in which the applicants explain why they would like to be involved in the Integra Council, they are elected by the other participants with a simple majority in a secret and anonymous election. Afterwards, the advisory board starts its work, which consists of the following activities:

  • Weekly consultation hours for the participants of the Integra programme during their one-semester term of office.
  • Monthly meetings with the International Office and the coordinators of the Integra programme.
