Why participate in Studienspur?

The Studienspur program prepares prospective students with a refugee background for their studies at the Ruhr University Bochum in a variety of ways. They not only learn German, but also gain study-relevant skills.

Goals

C1 level German language skills

Systemic and social integration on campus

  • Familiarize yourself with the requirements for studying
  • Acquire study-relevant competences
  • Orientation on campus
  • Meet fellow students and contact persons at the university
  • Familiarize yourself with digital teaching and e-learning platforms
Structure

  • The Studienspur program consists of an onboarding program (two weeks) and an intensive program
  • All participants participate in a two-week onboarding program at the beginning and can start with the intensive program if they successfully complete it.
  • In addition to the German courses and the preparatory events, the International Office will accompany you through the program and give you individual advice.

Dates

The Studienspur program starts with an onboarding program and continues with an intensive program.

Summer semester:

  • Onboarding: 18. - 28. March
  • German courses: starting in April

Winter semester:

  • Onboarding: two weeks in September
  • German courses: starting in October

Changes to the dates always possible!

If you attend regularly & successfully, you may continue to attend Studienspur in the following semester.

The German courses in the program Studienspur prepare participants for the DSH exam.

The Integra programme offers numerous events that support social and systematic integration.
