Partnerships and cooperations
The Ruhr University Bochum (RUB) is one of only a few German universities to be involved in several major transnational projects. RUB assumes special international responsibility, establishes its own or joint degree programmes and cooperates intensively with partner institutions and funding organisations.
A few examples of RUB's participation in larger cooperation projects:
RUB is responsible for the field of mechanical engineering at CDHK at Tongji University in Shanghai.
The Vietnamese-German University (VGU) in Ho Chi Minh City is one of the largest bi-national universities with German participation. RUB played a decisive role in setting up the VGU. Its Master's programme "Computational Engineering" was the university's first degree programme. In addition, RUB is involved in the bachelor's degree programme in mechanical engineering.
The South African-German Centre for Development Research (SA-GER CDR) has set itself the goal of preparing future local leaders for the economic, social and political challenges that the development process entails. To this end, several master's degree and doctoral programmes are offered jointly.
