Step 1: Find and apply for a German course

There are various providers of German courses in the area around Ruhr University Bochum. You can find a list of some of them here. Of course, there are also other language schools in Bochum that offer German courses.

German Course Providers

The Interculturas e.V. in association with AStA and the Studienkolleg Bochum offer German courses close to campus. Of course in Bochum and the surrounding area a number of other course providers, i.e. other language schools, commercial and publicly funded providers will also offer German language courses.

When choosing a provider outside of those detailed on this page, please make sure that the chosen course prepares you for a recognised language exam that qualifies you to study, e.g. TestDaF, DHS II or III or telc C1 Hochschule.

Interculturas

In cooperation with AStA of Ruhr University, Interculturas e.V. also offers language courses (A1-C1) and prepares students for the DSH examination. A university entrance qualification (HZB) is not necessarily required for this.

  • 11 weeks per course (20 lessons per week)
  • Test at the end of the course
  • 360€ A1-B2
  • 390€ C1
