Notes on the Online Application

• Please note that you can use the online application for both, the first application and an extension, even though the page says „Online-Antrag für die Verlängerung Ihres Aufenthaltstitels”, which means “Online application for the extension of your residence title”.
• Please check in advance which purpose you would like to apply for.
• If your desired purpose is not available in the online application, you can select another one and explain which residence title you actually wish to apply for in the free text field. You can also use the free text field to add further information/explanations or ask questions. Alternatively, you can contact the responsible team.
• If you have any questions about or problems with the application process (e.g., which documents should be uploaded?), you can make an appointment with the Welcome Office of the city of Bochum. Please note: They cannot advise on residence law.
• At the end of the online application, you have the option to download the application as a PDF file. We recommend doing this in any case.
• If you have not received any response from the Foreigners' Office four weeks after submitting your application, you can contact us.
