Events and excursions during the summer semester 2012

GUIDED TOUR ACROSS CAMPUS
Our programme includes a tour with an hour-long walk across campus to the various points of interest. We will take a look at the institutions which you may find interesting regarding both your job and recreation.
We are going to explore the Fine Arts Centre for example, take a sneak peek at the large university library, view our university museum, find out where the sports facilities are and take a picture of the campus from the roof of the IA building. You are welcome to join our team afterwards for a coffee in the International Lounge.

PLANETARIUM SHOW
We would like to take you to the planetarium in Bochum to see a music show named "Sternstunden". Amongst other things, you will be able to gaze up at cosmic landscapes or view gorgeous pictures from a famous painter, and this will be accompanied by music from the Beatles, Queen, Bruce Springsteen and many more artists. Come along and view a solar eclipse, figures from legend and mythology and travel to strange worlds. Music and pictures will become one as they take you on a journey full of new sensations.

INFORMATION AFTERNOON - INTERNATIONAL TAX LAW
In cooperation with the Department for Tax Law (Faculty of Law), we are going to organise a presentaion for visiting researchers and hosts from their faculties on the subject of international tax law. There will also be time for a discussion with the experts.

EXCURSION FOR FAMILIES
We are going to visit Europe's biggest rural adventure labyrinth “Irrland” (www.irrland.de)! Kids can run, jump around and explore the huge playground, brave the slides, pet farm animals, go climbing, play with water or swim in a corn pool, meet other kids, get a taste for nature or simply relax in the sun. You are welcome to bring a picnic with you (it is also possible to have a BBQ).

BUS & BOAT TOUR IN BOCHUM AND ON LAKE KEMNADE
This guided bus tour to the different points of interest in Bochum including industrial cultural attractions and places surrounded by nature such as Lake Kemnade. Whilst on the boat you can simply enjoy the beautiful surroundings or have a chat over a coffee or tea and waffles.
Meeting place: Entrance of the university library (we will return at approx. 5:30pm)

Price: €6 for adults, €4 for children (price includes tourist handbook, the boat tour and one coffee/tea with waffles)
