Booking an appointment: Welcome Office or Citizens' Office
If you are here with your family, you need to book the registration appointment for the appropriate number of people.
On this website you can find information on booking appointments with the city of Bochum.
If you reside in Germany for more than three months, you are obligated to register with the city you are living in. The registration has to take place within the first 14 days after moving in.

*If you are staying in one of the RUB guest houses, please take the certificate of landlord provided to you by the guest house team.
If you need a certificate of conduct (e.g. because you have a contract of employment with RUB), you can request it at your registration appointment.
If this is the case, you need to book an appointment for 1x registration and 1x certificate of conduct.
If you are already registered and need the certificate of conduct, you can book an appointment just for that purpose.
You are welcome to take the form we have prepared for this. Please note that this form is designed for academic employees at RUB.
The fee for the certificate of conduct is €13. If your appointment is at the Welcome Office, you need to pay the exact amount in cash.
Please note that you have to register your new address after every move within Germany. This also applies to moves within the same city.
If you have registered in Germany, you must deregister when you leave Germany permanently.
