Ruhr University Bochum students who would like to stay in Europe may apply for the ERASMUS program via their faculty or department. Applications have to be submitted to the ERASMUS departmental coordinator, who will determine which documents have to be handed in by which deadlines. Accordingly, required application documents and deadlines may vary depending on the faculty or department. Generally, the ERASMUS deadlines for the academic year 2026/27, i.e. winter semester 2026/27 and/or summer semester 2027, end between November 2025 and February 2026.

International Exchange Programs: Call for Applications for 2026/27
With the beginning of the winter semester 2025/26, there is a new call for applications for semesters or years abroad via the exchange programs of Ruhr University Bochum during the academic year 2026/27 (i.e. winter semester 2026/27 and/or summer semester 2027). As part of the exchange programs, tuition fees will be waived.
Students interested in spending a semester or year abroad outside of Europe may apply for a place at one of the partner universities of Ruhr University Bochum via the International Office. For places at partner universities in the USA through the MAUI Utrecht Network Exchange Program, in Australia through the AEN Utrecht Network Exchange Program, or at institutions in France, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, China, South Korea, Taiwan, and Japan applications have to be handed in by 1 December 2025, 11:59 pm.
