Prof. Dr. Zintombizethu (zethu) Matebeni

Zintombizethu (zethu) Matebeni, founder of MATI Archives is Visiting Professor at Nelson Mandela University's Centre for Women and Gender Studies, Alumni Fellow at University Alliance Ruhr's College for Humanities and Social Sciences and currently the Decolonial Futures Scholar in Residence at the University of Amsterdam.

zethu’s research centers African queer life, decolonial feminisms, and transnational Black feminist knowledge production. zethu’s published works include Reclaiming Afrikan (Modjaji, 2014), Queer in Africa (Routledge, 2018), and Beyond the Mountain (UNISA Press, 2020), and numerous journal articles, essays and book chapters.
