Executive Director, Coalition for Academic Freedom in the Americas
Camilla Croso is the Executive Director of the Coalition for Academic Freedom in the Americas.
She was previously Director of the Education Program and Division Director of Initiatives at the Open Society Foundations (2020-2024), General Coordinator of the Latin American Campaign for the Right to Education (2006-2014) and President of the Global Campaign for Education (2010-2018).
She has worked for the promotion of human rights, the right to education and the right to academic freedom for over twenty-five years. She has integrated the regional and global SDG4/ Education 2030 Steering Committees as well as the Board of the Global Partnership for Education.
Camilla holds a professional certificate on Gender and Development from the Geneva Graduate Institute, an MSc from the London School of Economics in Social Policy and Planning in Developing Countries and a PhD on Global Corporate Governance of Education: Implications for the Right to Education, from UNICAMP, Brazil.
