Special regulations at RUB: COVID-19

Due to the current outbreak of COVID-19, the guesthouses have special regulations to follow from now on:

- The janitors will only be available in emergency cases via mail: guesthouse@rub.de (starting Wed, March 18th)

- In case you are moving out:

  • Unfortunately, there is no possibility to provide personal assistance during the process of handing over the apartment.

  • In case you are moving out, please send an email to guesthouse@rub.de and add the following information: name of the guesthouse, room number and the date of moving out. Also, please let us know about any defects inside the apartment that need to be taken care of.

  • Please leave your apartment keys on a shelf inside the apartment where it is visible.

  • Deposits won’t be handed out in cash anymore, but via credit transfer. Please write an email to Beate.Seidemann@uv.rub.de with your bank account details so we can transfer the deposit.

Thank you for your understanding!

Accommodation

Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB) has 81 fully equipped non-smoking apartments for visiting researchers.8 of them are family flats and we are able to offer one-family-house.

Accomodation requests can be submitted via your host department only. Our apartments can be leased for complete calendar months only and for a maximum term of lease of 12 months.

Please consider that your booking is binding and can only be cancled free of charge until one month before the beginning of your tenancy agreement. Due to organisational reasons, moving in is possible from the 3rd day from 12 o´clock of the first rental month. Before arrival, a security deposite must be paid.

Since the number of apartments, especially for families are limited, you should contact your host institute for accommodation in Germany for you as early as possible (several months before your arrival in Bochum).
