Utrecht Network Young Researchers Grant 2022/23

Students of Ruhr-Universität Bochum planning to do research abroad between 1 April 2022 and 31 March 2023 to complete their master's or PhD thesis at one of the member universities of the Utrecht Network (UN) can apply for a Young Researchers Grant at the International Office until 4 February 2022.

The scholarship

The Utrecht Network Young Researchers Grant is designed to promote and further enhance the Network’s support to students and staff as well as broaden mobility between the Network’s institutions.

Within the framework of the Young Researchers Grant up to 20 scholarships of € 1,000 each will be offered to students, who might not be eligible for other scholarship programmes such as Erasmus (e.g. length of stay is under 2 months).

The Utrecht Network Young Researchers Grant is for self-organised mobility at one of the Utrecht Network partner universities.

Important notes and restrictions

The scholarship is limited to research stays for final theses of Master's and PhD students. Unfortunately, Bachelor's students are not eligible to apply.

The stay must be at least one month long.

The host institution must not be located in Germany.

Students who are eligible for an Erasmus scholarship cannot apply for this scholarship programme.

Application process

Applications must be submitted to the International Office via email (PDF) by 4 February 2022.

- Letter of recommendation by supervisor/programme coordinator

- Letter of Acceptance (by an academic supervisor/coordinator at the host institution)
