UNIC mobility hub
Students of RUB and other UNIC's partner universities alike can find out everything they need to know about the possibility of studying abroad at one of the UNIC partner universities and the UNIC (virtual) events offered by the network below.
Depending on their subject, RUB students can undertake an exchange year or shorter study and research stays at UNIC partner universities. Options are broadened further over the course of the project through blended-learning formats, summer and winter schools, city labs and even possible joint degree programmes. Financial support for such a stay is offered via an Erasmus mobility scholarship and other funding programmes within UNIC.
All of UNIC's partner universities offer virtual teaching and learning opportunities as part of the UNIC Opened Courses, which can also be attended by all students and teachers from UNIC universities. An up-to-date list of courses open to all UNIC students can be found here.

To keep the environmental footprint of our European University as small as possible, UNIC promotes green mobility. With the Train instead of Plane (TIP) Scheme, UNIC offers 15 scholarships per year for students of UNIC universities who commit to travelling by train to their UNIC study stay destination - if the host university is at least 350km away from the home university.
You can find more information about the eligibility requirements and the application procedure here or contact Laura Schiffmann in the RUB International Office directly.
Under the TIP Scheme, grants of €185, equivalent to the cost of an Interrail ticket for 3 days per month, are awarded. Applications are first assessed to determine if tacking the train offers a sustainable alternative and if the distance is at least 350km). A lottery will then be used to determine which students will receive funding. Applications for the 2023 summer term are now open.
Application deadline: 15.12.2022 or 15.01.2023 - depending on the date of travel.
Please send your application by email to Laura Schiffmann in the RUB International Office with the following attachments:
UNIC is not only an international alliance, but also a multilingual one. To grow closer together on a linguistic level as well, UNIC now offers 10 free online language learning modules. These courses provide first-hand knowledge of the 10 UNIC languages, as well as insights into the universities, cities and cultures of the partner universities. All UNIC online language modules are free digital self-study courses for beginners, except for the English language module, which requires prior knowledge at B1/B2 level. It is possible to either complete the entire language module (15 to 30 hours on average, depending on the language) or select from the content according to your own interest. Each partner university offers its own language modules in the e-learning system of the respective university.
