Transatlantic Ruhr Fellowship

Every summer, highly motivated and high performing students from the University Alliance Ruhr can first develop their intercultural skills in a summer school and then gain practical experience in an internship in the New York metropolitan region.

The 2026 Transatlantic Ruhr Fellowship takes place from July 24 to September 20, 2026. The application deadline ends on November 15, 2025.

From the Ruhr to the Big Apple

The programme

The Transatlantic Ruhr Fellows participate in a summer school on Entrepreneurial Mindest first and then intern in a renowned US company or international organisation in the greater New York metropolitan area.

The summer school covers the following key areas:

  • Intercultural communication
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Introduction to the differences between US and German corporate culture
  • Workshop for the development of leadership skills
  • Career counseling
  • Talent management
  • Diversity in the workplace
  • Working in the 21st century
