The list is by no means exhaustive - if you are looking for a different kind of support, contact the institution listed which seems most appropriate, or simply ask the Welcome Centre to be referred.
The Welcome Centre will assist you in organisational and bureaucratic issues, and maintains a database of international researchers in which you are welcome to register.
The Welcome Centre will also offer guidance if you are looking for specific resources and are unsure where to turn.

The Research Support Office offers guidance, information and counselling regarding grant proposals, the management of research projects, and the administration of national and international funding. RUB Research School provides a comprehensive portfolio of support, training, and career development offers for doctoral and postdoctoral researchers. Training, networking formats, and individual consultation are all available in English, as are specific consulting offers for international mobility and for the onboarding of international researchers.

The University Library and IT.Services offer numerous services for researchers regarding publishing, research data management, and researcher identifiers, including comprehensive learning resources on RDM. You can also find information regarding open access publishing. All contact persons can be found following the respective links.
The Department for Organisational and Professional Development offers training, advice, and referral regarding career development, with a focus on diversity and equity issues, team building and collaboration, and on leadership in academia. Individual, external coaching is arranged for professors, and our training portal offers an increasing number of workshops in English. Please make initial contact with Ms Katharina Zilles.
Are you or have you been affected by discrimination, or would you like to support a colleague or student? Michalina Trompeta, RUB's central anti-discrimination officer, offers information and individual counselling in a confidential setting. Please contact her directly at antidiskriminierung@rub.de. A committee of experienced ombudspersons is responsible for the safeguarding of good scientific practice at RUB and will provide advice and confidential counselling in case of conflict. They may be contacted at ombudsstelle@rub.de.
In addition to the central ombudspersons, RUB Research School provides advice for doctoral and postdoctoral researchers and their supervisors. You may contact the Research School ombudsperson, Dr. Ursula Justus, regarding concerns, conflicts, and crises related to doctoral and postdoctoral qualification and supervision.
