PROMOS Internship Abroad: Responsibilities for Scholars

• PROMOS Scholarship Agreement:

  As part of your scholarship offer, you will receive the PROMOS scholarship certificate and the PROMOS scholarship agreement. Please submit the completed and signed scholarship agreement in paper form (!) to the International Office. By signing the agreement, you accept the PROMOS scholarship and agree to provide various supporting documents after completing your funded stay.

• Payment of the Scholarship:

  Usually, the one-time PROMOS travel allowance ("Teilstipendium Mobilität") is transferred approximately one month before the start of your PROMOS-funded stay abroad. The monthly scholarship installments for the stay ("Teilstipendium Aufenthalt") are paid on a monthly basis.

• Obligation to Notify:

  As a PROMOS scholarship holder, you are obliged to notify the International Office of RUB immediately of any changes in circumstances that are relevant to the award and amount of the scholarship. Please inform us without delay if there are any changes to your plans to study abroad or if you are unable to travel! In general, cancellation-related expenses cannot be reimbursed by the DAAD.

• Obligation to Notify:

  Please inform us immediately if there are any changes to the planned duration of your stay, as this may affect the amount of your PROMOS scholarship.

• RUB Outbound Story:

  With your experience abroad, you can help the International Office raise awareness about the exchange and funding opportunities offered by RUB. During your stay abroad, please collect pictures for a social media post for the “RUB Outbound Stories.” This means you do exactly what you would do anyway: take photos! You can find inspiration from former PROMOS scholars on the International Office's Instagram account (internationaloffice_rub).

Please provide proof that you have completed your stay in accordance with the regulations by submitting the documents listed below no later than one month after the end of the funding period. Failure to comply may result in a (partial) repayment of the scholarship.

Please send the following to promos@rub.de within one month:

• Confirmation of Stay

  The Confirmation of Stay may not be issued earlier than five days before the end of the funding period. Please ensure that the approved funding period is confirmed. If you have been abroad for a shorter period and the confirmed dates differ from those stated in your scholarship certificate and agreement, you may be required to pay back a part of the scholarship.

• RUB Outbound Story

  For your personal “RUB Outbound Story,” please submit at least three nice photos and a short, expressive statement. You can find inspiration on the International Office's Instagram account (internationaloffice_rub).

• Final Report

  You will find instructions on how to write the report in the PDF document linked above.

• PROMOS Online Survey

  By completing the questionnaire, you are helping to improve the PROMOS program.
