Apply now for a PROMOS grant! PROMOS is a scholarship program funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and Ruhr University Bochum (RUB).

This is the first application deadline for the 2027 funding year, which begins on January 1, 2027. Please note that ongoing stays are not eligible for funding: your stay must not have begun before January 1, 2027. There are two more application deadlines for the 2027 funding year: March 1, 2027, and June 1, 2027.
For the first round in the 2027 funding year you can apply via the online portal as of September 2026.
RUB students from all departments are eligible to apply for PROMOS if they are planning a stay abroad as follows:
Unfortunately, internships cannot be funded in 2027, due to limited funds.
Teaching staff of Ruhr University Bochum can apply for PROMOS funding of field trips with a number of participants of 5 to 15 students and PhD candidates. If you are interested, please don't hesitate to contact the International Office.
