Scholarship

Scholarships provided by the International Office of Ruhr-Universität

Each semester, various scholarships can be awarded to international students (with and without a refugee background) with good academic achievements.
The scholarships are funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science (MKW) of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and are awarded according to the DAAD guidelines. The scholarships are awarded by a selection committee consisting of members of various faculties.
All information about the scholarships on the pages of Ruhr-Universität Bochum is always subject to the provision of funds, i.e. the scholarships can only be awarded if the funding is provided by the DAAD.

How does the application process work?

1. You apply online via the application portal.
2. Your application will be checked on completeness. If any documents are missing, you will receive an email and the opportunity to submit the documents within the late submission deadline.
3. A selection committee will assess your application and decide on the awarding of the scholarships.
4. We will inform you as soon as the selection committee has made its decision.
